2021 TRAINING CAMP

Open training opportunity for club programs to use the Allan Jones Aquatic Center for workouts. Coaches will provide instruction and discuss topics pertaining to the sport.
 
Prepare to Swim Instruction and Demonstrations
  • Discuss the purpose of using land based movement to prepare for in-water training
  • Discuss the benefit of land based routines
  • Demonstrate upper and lower body specific movements
  • Answer questions surrounding land based movement
College Swimming Roadmap
  • Discuss the different areas of college swimming (NCAA D1, D2 and D3 | NAIA)
  • Discuss  how scholarships work and their availability at different levels
  • Discuss how to best reach out to coaches and when you are allowed to do so
  • Answer questions surrounding college swimming
Stroke Technique Presentation
  • Discuss the technical components of all four competitive strokes
  • Show video of all four strokes
  • Answer questions surrounding each competitive stroke
DATES
June 12th - August 31st

WHO
Open to all teams/athletes ages 7+
Camp is open to any and all teams, limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.

COST
Big Orange
$125 an hour for the full pool and $75 an hour for half the pool. Includes:
-Prepare to swim instruction and demonstrations
-College Swimming Roadmap
 
Smokey Special
$250 an hour for the full pool and $175 an hour for half the pool. Includes:
-Prepare to swim instruction and demonstrations
-College Swimming Roadmap
-Stroke Technique Presentation

TIMES
Session 1: 5:30 AM - 6:30 AM
Session 2: 8:45 AM - 1:30 PM
Session 3: 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

All of Tennessee Sports Camps are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).

Note: The University may postpone or cancel this event due to circumstances or conditions beyond its control, such as, but not limited to, natural disasters, acts or war, acts of God, or public health emergencies. Neither party shall be liable for damages for delay or default if such delay or default is caused by circumstances or conditions beyond its control, such as, but not limited to, natural disasters, acts of war, acts of God, or health emergencies. The Parties will consult with other to determine if the event can be rescheduled. -- It is not permissible for boosters to provide expenses for individuals to attend any of the Tennessee Sports Camps. Expenses include but are not limited to, lodging meals, transportation, and/or camp tuition.
